Maintain Listening Watch within Approaches and Harbour on: Harbourmaster / Port de Saint-Cast Ch.09.

Navigation: The port of Saint Cast is situated to the South East of Saint Cast Point, overlooked by a signal station and flanked by rocks 500 metres to the North East. It is not advisable to pass between the Point and the Bourdinots Shelf, uncovered rocks (2 metres) situated 3⁄4 of a mile to the North East of the Point, and marked to the North East by a Cardinal East buoy. It is preferable to keep well clear of the “Shelf” before heading to the entrance via the marked channel to the port.

Depths: The port is accessible whatever the tide via the dredged channel, with a depth of 2 metres below chart datum.

Tidal Streams: Due care should be exercised during flood /ebbing tides as approaches can have strong tidal eddies.

Winds: Does not present a problem to access main harbour/marina in normal conditions. A 5 metre high windbreak is situated to the South West of the port.

Speed Limits: Harbour 5 knots.

Harbour / Marina entrance: Open access. See “Depths”. The access channel runs parallel to the extended breakwater. On rounding the head of the breakwater the port entrance is situated between the Bec Rond Rock (+5 metres) and the La Feuillade Rock.

Marina: Port de Saint-Cast Marina. 40 allocated marina visitor berths. See: “Links”.

Swinging Visitors Moorings: 10 places. Check with harbour office prior to picking up a visitors mooring. Be sure to check depth with harbour office when procuring a visitors mooring (Some may dry out).

Fuel: Fuel pontoon (Diesel and SP95 petrol) accessible 24hr (credit card payment only).
